About Our Documentaries and Projects

What is DocuFilm and what do you do?

DocuFilm is a collaboration between three experienced filmmakers (Wouter, Monique & Robbert) who create documentaries on social themes such as health, nature, and freedom. Our films aim to inspire and raise awareness among a wide audience.

About Our Documentaries and Projects

So far, we have completed two documentaries:

  • Geen zorgen om Morgen (2007) – A documentary about Morgenster Willem Blootvoet, who collects and resells old items at the Waterlooplein market. An inspiring story about living life on your own terms.

  • Blijf geloven (2018) – This film follows Frans Baartmans in the slums of Nagwa, in the holy city of Varanasi, India, where he supports Dalits in building a dignified life. Amid extreme poverty, these marginalized communities demonstrate resilience and vitality, bringing hope and inspiration for a better future together with Frans.

Why can I watch DocuFilm documentaries online for free?

We believe our stories should be accessible to everyone, regardless of financial means. By sharing our documentaries online for free, we can reach and inspire a wide audience. Our work is made possible by supporters who contribute upfront because they believe in our mission and the message of our films. This way, we can share content that has a social impact without creating financial barriers.

How can I screen a documentary or use it for educational purposes?

Yes! We offer opportunities for schools, universities, film clubs, and other educational organizations to screen our documentaries. Please contact us at contact@docufilm.nl for more information about licenses and screening options. This also allows us to potentially collaborate, share knowledge, and combine efforts to maximize the impact of our films.

What ongoing projects does DocuFilm currently have?

DocuFilm is currently working on three promising projects:

  • Follow the Signs – About farmers who choose regenerative agriculture and work toward healthy ecosystems.

  • Through Different Eyes – Explores the value of health in a society dominated by processed food and mental exhaustion.

  • Netherlands Under Construction – This docuseries follows Elze van Hamelen’s “De Grote Verbouwing,” showing how Dutch citizens, farmers, and fishermen face significant and concerning changes in the coming years, while some discover new ways to take control of their own lives.
