As a filmmaker, I mainly work as a producer and interviewer, but above all I am always searching for stories that matter. Stories that reveal something about people, their choices and the world we live in.

From a young age I have been curious. Not only about how things work, but especially why. What drives people? What lies behind their fears, dreams and decisions? That curiosity is at the core of my work and keeps me searching for what often remains beneath the surface.
Connection is essential in that process. During interviews I aim to create a safe space where people can simply be themselves. Often they forget the camera is there, and that is when the most honest moments appear.

Those are the stories I want to capture, pure, human and real.

From a young age, I have been fascinated by the world around me. How does life actually work, and how can we make it better for all of us? I have always struggled with injustice, and perhaps that is where my curiosity comes from. From an early age, we are confronted with everything that is not right in the world, especially through the media. That drew me in at a young age, and perhaps also towards the path of becoming a filmmaker.

At the same time, I felt that much of what I was being told about the world did not fully add up. That search for real answers has shaped my path as a filmmaker: always looking for stories that need to be told.

Over the past 15 years, I have worked as a producer, director, camera operator, and editor. I also work with great joy as a film educator. By sharing knowledge and guiding young creators, my curiosity has continued to grow and I have kept learning along the way.
DocuFilm has always been a dream of mine. The power of film, the authenticity of documentary, and the urgency of meaningful stories come together here, driven by idealism and the belief that stories can create change.

I am grateful to work with wonderful colleagues and partners, making films that invite us to see the world differently and encourage us to live differently as well. I believe I am not the only one who feels that things do not always add up, and that it is important to keep asking questions of ourselves and the world around us.

In 2023 I graduated from the Netherlands Film Academy, specializing in editing. I have been making films since I was young, but it was in editing that everything came together. Over time, my focus naturally moved toward documentaries. In a world that has changed rapidly in recent years, the urgency to tell meaningful stories has only grown stronger.

I am drawn to the world around me, always questioning how it works and why. In my view, many of the systems we live within are no longer functioning properly and call for new ways of thinking about how we live and work together. We are living in a time of growing polarization, where people often hold on tightly to their own version of the truth, and space for real dialogue is shrinking.

With film, I try to create small openings in that tension. I approach society with a critical eye, but also with the hope of showing that things can be different, that connection, understanding and cooperation are still possible.

In my work, I look for the contrast between how our society functions today and how it could become more humane. I believe it is important to first understand the systems we are part of as they are. Only then can we truly see why change is needed, and begin to imagine new directions with clarity and intention.
